Love spells are dangerous, even more so for those who cast them…
Ethan Hamilton moves to a lazy little town in Oregon, hoping to escape his demons. Instead, he discovers a woman dancing nude in the moonlight. This woman who claims she is a witch dazzles him with her sensual presence. He thinks she’s crazy, but what if she’s not?
Jessie Anderson has been taught that her kind hides who they really are. And she has a problem on her hands. Someone knows her secret and she must do all she can to protect herself. What other choice does she have? Jessie casts a spell on a good man, a man with whom she can’t fight her attraction. The spell doesn’t work quite as planned.
Messing with free will is always a bad idea.
To top it off, Ethan’s treatment of her is so addictive. Deep down, she knows the effects will wear off, and yet his feelings seem genuine. It’s just a spell…right?
AUTHOR Q&A – About the Characters
Character Name: Ethan Hamilton
- What is your character’s profession? And your character’s greatest strengths?
Ethan used to be a police officer back in Seattle, but he is settling into a new home in Yachats, Oregon. He’s generous, honorable, and cares about other people.
- What are his/her greatest weaknesses?
He’s very hard on himself, and sees his flaws first rather than noticing any accomplishments. It’s also a challenge for him to trust others, or accept help when he needs it.
- What are some of his/her favorite foods?
Ethan is a real foodie, and in another life, he could’ve been a famous chef. He learned how to cook from his grandmother, and has made a point to expand on his talents in the kitchen. This tends to impress the women he dates.
- What’s a positive quality that your character is unaware that he or she has?
He is more forgiving than he gives himself credit for.
- Will readers like or dislike this character, and why?
Yes, I think they’ll see he’s a good man, that despite his plight, he is deserving of a decent life.
Character Name: Jessie Anderson
- What is your character’s profession? And your character’s greatest strengths?
Jessie owns a small giftshop, selling homemade candles and other New Age wares. Also as a Wiccan, she is a strong, independent soul, and finds joy in her craft.
- What are his/her greatest weaknesses?
She doesn’t easily trust others. She fears no one will understand her and her gifts, doesn’t even open up to her neighbors in town.
- What are some of his/her favorite foods?
Jessie fondly remembers the homemade foods her grandma used to make, but nowadays she doesn’t have a lot of time or energy to spend on a good meal.
- What’s a positive quality that your character is unaware that he or she has?
She sees beauty in the world, in the gifts Nature has provided.
- Will readers like or dislike this character, and why?
I think they will empathize with Jessie’s fear of someone discovering her secrets, and root for the couple’s relationship to succeed.

Thursday Trilogies and More: Marie Lavender and Magick!

Get a sneak peek of my future lighthearted romantic fantasy, Magick Sunrise, book three of the Magick Series, here!
Hello and welcome to Living the Dream. Today, I would like to highlight one of my favorite authors, Marie Lavender. One of the most difficult things for an author to do is write a series of books. The key is keeping the reader hooked from one book to another. J.K. Rowling mastered this with her Harry Potter books and I believe Marie is on her way to doing the same. Read on to learn more!

2017 A to Z Challenge Blog: M is for Marie and Magick
Posted by Marie Lavender
Welcome to the thirteenth day of the 2017 A to Z blog challenge. I’m later than usual this morning because I slept in and had family visiting yesterday–long story short, we had a great time yakking, laughing, and drinking lots of wine.
Today’s letter is M, and in keeping with my decision to introduce you to authors you may not have had a chance to meet before. Today’s author is Marie Lavender, and I’ll be showcasing her new books, The Magick Series
M is For Marie and Magick
Let Marie tell you about herself.
I have been writing for over twenty-five years. From the tender age of nine, I knew I wanted to be an author. I’ve spent most of my life trying to fulfill that dream. I began publishing in 2010, and was fortunate enough to be discovered by Solstice Publishing when they picked up and published my first historical romance novel, Upon…

Paranormal Romance Review: Magick and Moonlight (Marie Lavender)
Posted by Marie Lavender
An awesome review for M&M! 🙂
If you liked Practical Magic with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, one-click Magick & Moonlight by Marie Lavender. Both Jessie and Ethan are hiding in small-town Oregon from something in the past. Can they resolve their mutual reservations about magick and learn to live – and love – again?
Small businesswoman Jessie was taught the ways of Wicca by her beloved late grandmother. While privately practicing the rituals of her faith in the forest, she is interrupted by a strange man. Is he worth the risk of her heart, her career and her life?
Ethan is a former cop laying low in a secluded cabin while seeking new direction in his life. Romance is the furthest thing from his mind when he chances upon a woman in the woods. Is their love real or is he simply spellbound?

Guest Post: Author Marie Lavender

Find out about my journey and writing process here on Michael Aronovitz’ blog!
My Note: Marie Lavender is a phenomenal writer of romance fiction. She is the consummate professional, and I am quite fortunate to have made her acquaintance. I find romance and horror to be strangely similar actually, first by way of structure. The hiding of things, whether for the purpose of seduction or suspense, plays similarly. Also, the biggest motivation for both genres is love, as romance stories tease with what you can’t have and horror tales toy with what you are terrified to lose.
So Marie, I am proud to have you visit The Author’s Graveyard, and I would ask that you pick a plot. Put up a marker. Etch something into the stone!
