Great Reviews!

Hi, readers! Yesterday I discovered these cool reviews for my books…

Blood Instincts, a paranormal romance/urban fantasy (with a slightly futuristic angle)

on August 16, 2018
I’ve not read the first volume in the Blood at First Sight series. I enjoyed this book as a stand alone work with no problem.

The story revolves around Oliver, a vampire, and Myah, whose father was a vampire and whose mother was human. They were not supposed to be able to have children, so Myah is special. Myah does not know her heritage , and the story revolves around Oliver’s attempt to introduce her to the life of an “other.”

The book was easy to read, interesting, and enjoyable. The plot moved quickly. The romantic scenes were detailed and sensuous. The author led me to care about Myah. I found myself feeling rather protective of her and becoming concerned whenever I suspected that any other creature – human or otherwise – might harm her.

I will confess that I do not often read paranormal romance. I was drawn to the book because I have enjoyed dome of the author’s other work. However, I found Blood Instincts to be enjoyable and well-worth a read.

Heiresses in Love Trilogy, a historical romance boxed set (covers the entire Heiresses in Love Series)

Fara doesn’t want to risk her heart but she does, and what will happen?

Chloe doesn’t tell the whole truth to a man she loves.

Adrienne…will she fight for love or fall?

All of these stories were well written by a great author. The reader will be gripped to the pages waiting to find out what happens. Great word building and great characters you want to see good things happen to.

Wow! Thanks, David and Barbara, for your kind comments! ♥

Mega Cool Review for UYL — 5 Stars!

I Love Romance Blog

So, I am bursting to give you this news! I just stumbled across this awesome five star review for Upon Your Love, a historical romance/family saga novel and book three of the Heiresses in Love Series.

This is what the reviewer said on Amazon:

I always thought historical romances were boring, but I was wrong!!!, June 13, 2017

This review is from: Upon Your Love (Heiresses In Love Book 3) (Kindle Edition)
The first thing I noticed was the length of the book which might startle a modern-day reader, but this one’s totally worth it. A solid storyline that flows from one page to the next. I think the length of this book is a plus point because it allows you to really, really get to know the characters. So don’t let the number of pages scare you. Most romance novels don’t give…

Paranormal Romance Review: Magick and Moonlight (Marie Lavender)

An awesome review for M&M! 🙂

Belinda Y. Hughes Books

If you liked Practical Magic with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, one-click Magick & Moonlight by Marie Lavender. Both Jessie and Ethan are hiding in small-town Oregon from something in the past. Can they resolve their mutual reservations about magick and learn to live – and love – again?

Small businesswoman Jessie was taught the ways of Wicca by her beloved late grandmother. While privately practicing the rituals of her faith in the forest, she is interrupted by a strange man. Is he worth the risk of her heart, her career and her life?

Ethan is a former cop laying low in a secluded cabin while seeking new direction in his life. Romance is the furthest thing from his mind when he chances upon a woman in the woods. Is their love real or is he simply spellbound?

My Author Journey by Marie Lavender

When Jill Marie asked me to talk about my author journey, I wanted to approach it a bit differently than I had in the past. So, let’s really get into the mindset, the life of an author, shall we?

Being an author isn’t about making the bestsellers list or tons of royalties or winning awards, though any of those are great. It’s not even about meeting your publisher’s deadlines. The defining moment for an author is different for everyone. And we constantly evolve.

My first defining moment was when I received my first book contract in 2012. And when that historical romance novel, Upon Your Return, came out six months later, when I first held the paperback in my…

Second Chance Heart By Marie Lavender (A Review)

Review By Don Sloan

heart

Dana Nelson still loves Vince Reynolds even after twelve long years. She just can’t reconcile that love with the equally strong feelings of bitterness and betrayal that well up in her every time she sees him nowadays.

Dana’s dilemma stems from a brief dalliance she caught him at when the two were in college. Of course circumstances for an ongoing relationship were less than ideal. She was in Chapel Hill attending Duke at the time, and he was at NYU, and, well, Vince got caught with a blonde in his bed during a surprise visit by Dana to the Big Apple.

But, twelve years have gone by and she finds to her dismay that the intervening time has not cooled her ardor for the dark-eyed hunk.

They meet by chance in a small town during the present day and, in a sudden and unexpected close encounter…

Reviewed by Michelle Randall for Readers’ Favorite

Alec is not your ordinary drop-dead handsome man, he is a vampire, and he smells the most amazing blood he has ever met. He is looking for it when he finds it at a festival. Desiree is a young woman with a broken heart and soul. She has been unlucky in love, but she thinks she is okay. Alec has to know more about her, he wants to know her, not just have a taste of her blood, which is something he has never done. Desiree is stronger than she thinks and her mind is even stronger; she is able to resist the normal vampire mind thoughts. Alec knows there is something special about her, but it also puts her in danger. He takes a bold step and kidnaps her, taking her to his house. Second Nature follows Alec and Desiree as she begins to learn about Alec and trust him. Along the way, they find something more than they ever thought possible, but they both know in reality it can never work, right? A human and a vampire? Author Marie Lavender gives us a different look into vampire-human relationships.

Second Nature: Blood At First Sight Book 1 by author Marie Lavender is not your typical vampire novel. Alec is a lone vampire, he does not live in a group, or family. Vampires do not mix with humans at all, other than to take the amounts of blood they need, but only that much. So when Alec is taken with Desiree, this is something he is completely unprepared for and he has no idea how to handle it. Desiree has no idea vampires exist, but takes the news relatively well. Given her unlucky past with her ex-husband, she has a hard time trusting Alec, but he works to win her trust. In reality this is much more than a romance novel, it is the story of Alec and Desiree, and the fact that they are human and vampire is secondary. Anyone who enjoys a good romance should read this one; it is an emotional read!
