Paranormal Romance Review: Magick and Moonlight (Marie Lavender)

An awesome review for M&M! 🙂

Belinda Y. Hughes Books

If you liked Practical Magic with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, one-click Magick & Moonlight by Marie Lavender. Both Jessie and Ethan are hiding in small-town Oregon from something in the past. Can they resolve their mutual reservations about magick and learn to live – and love – again?

Small businesswoman Jessie was taught the ways of Wicca by her beloved late grandmother. While privately practicing the rituals of her faith in the forest, she is interrupted by a strange man. Is he worth the risk of her heart, her career and her life?

Ethan is a former cop laying low in a secluded cabin while seeking new direction in his life. Romance is the furthest thing from his mind when he chances upon a woman in the woods. Is their love real or is he simply spellbound?

Thoughtful, 5 Star Review for Second Nature!

A new review for Second Nature!

I Love Romance Blog

I just found this great review for the first book in the Blood at First Sight Series! Woo hoo! 🙂

5.0 out of 5 starsA dose of mush & thrill, July 25, 2015
This review is from: Second Nature (Blood At First Sight Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
A cup of tea never goes out of fashion, nor do the kind of books that guarantee cosiness to go with it. We are, of course, talking here about romance. And Marie Lavender has a knack for serving it well.
As the author notes about the protagonist – a vampire, “All he’d ever hoped for, when you looked past the bitterness of fate, was acceptance. He had foolishly wanted to be accepted despite his supernatural flaws. And that just wasn’t possible.” That ironically is true for the very genre of romance in the sense that window of acceptance of deviations is rather slim…

Second Nature is everything a vampire romance should be…a strong human female, a tortured and extraordinarily handsome vampire, and an inexplicable connection between the two that almost doesn’t happen, but thankfully does.

Despite their obvious species difference, vampire and human, Alec and Desiree are drawn to each other. There’s just something about Desiree Edwards that drives Alec mad….in the good sort of way. Her blood calls to him, her scent drives him wild. Why does this human affect him…

***THIS BOOK WAS GIVEN TO ME IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***

Synopsis

Fara Bellamont has been back in society for a year after leaving Cluny Abbey, where her uncle sent her long ago. When he chooses a suitor for her for marriage, she fears that she will be forced to marry a stranger and live a miserable life.

But, Fara finds herself thrust into an adventure of a lifetime when unforeseen circumstances cause her to place her trust in a strange man for protection. His intervention not only saves her, but puts her in an even more compromising position.

Grant Hill, a trading captain, is enchanted by the young heiress not only because of her beauty, but because she is hardly conventional. Underneath her ladylike exterior lies a tigress. Grant cannot help but offer his protection as she is in need and he is far from immune from her charms.

Fara just never bargained on the passion that she feels for Grant Hill. As events unfold, she must decide whether her desires and the dictates of her heart should trump the rules of society in this exciting tale.

***Amanda #NerdGirlWitch Review***
This was a amazing read! Marie is a brilliant author and I enjoyed reading this immensely. The twists and turns flowed beautifully and the romance was epic and heart pounding. The Characters were sexy, compelling and stubborn, and the story was beautiful, romantic and at times even a little dangerous. I loved that the characters were kind of stuck with each other and at times had a kind of love/hate relationship as it added fire to the scenes, you could tell however that they didn’t ever hate each other and you could see their relationship continued to grow.I loved all the history that comes with reading a period story like this. Historical romance is chock full of history and intrigue, and that is one of the things I love about them. Marie did a fantastic JOB on this one and I loved all of the historical stuff that she added to the story to make it seem as if you had really been taken back.
Don’t miss out on your chance to read this piece of history!
