Marie Lavender- Multigenre Author

I’m a hybrid author, having dabbled in both traditional and indie publishing realms. I’ve been writing for over twenty-five years. From the tender age of nine, I knew I wanted to be a novelist. I spent most of my life trying to fulfill that dream. I began publishing in 2010, and was fortunate enough to be discovered when a publishing company picked up and released my first historical romance novel, Upon Your Return (book one of the Heiresses in Love Series), in February of 2013. By June of 2019, I was looking for a new home for UYR, as I got the rights back from my former publisher. In January of 2020, I signed a contract with a different publisher for the title’s second edition release. Then, in February of 2022, that publisher stumbled upon difficult times and the rights to the whole series reverted back to me. I’m working on getting these books back to the market. Upon Your Return’s third edition released on March 21, 2022. 😉 I’m eager to show you the rest of this Victorian maritime romance/family saga series…

I also have a lighthearted adult contemporary romantic fantasy, Magick & Moonlight, which released in March of 2014. The second edition came out in April of 2020. The follow-up book, a children’s fantasy titled A Little Magick – book two of the Magick Series – was released in July of 2015.

Second Nature, a paranormal romance/urban fantasy and book one of the Blood at First Sight Series, was released in December of 2014 through Solstice Shadows. I received the rights back, and the second edition is now available. A contemporary romance, Second Chance Heart, was released in October of 2015. Blue Vision, a science fiction romance and book one of the Code of Endhivar Series, was released in November of 2016. The second edition came out in December of 2019.

In February of 2017, The Missing Piece, a short new adult romance, was released. The second edition was published in February of 2020. In July of 2017, Directions of the Heart, a modern romantic drama collection, was released. Blood Instincts, a futuristic paranormal romance/urban fantasy and book two of the Blood at First Sight Series, came out in May of 2018. The second edition was released in November of 2021. Additionally, Chasing Ginger, a romantic comedy and book one of The Misfits Series, was released on March 10, 2020. In other news, in February 2021, Phenomenal Touch, a supernatural romance boxed set, came out on the market. In other news, I’m tackling a romantic mystery collection titled First Target; as well as several other collections and series projects, which I’ll release in the future.

I have published 21 books under various pen names: Marie Lavender, Erica Sutherhome, Kathryn Layne and Heather Crouse. I plan to relaunch them all under the same author name. In the past, two of my short stories were published in a private university publication.

Lesser Known Facts About Me:

1. I love gel pens!

2. My favorite color is hot pink.

3. I adore beautiful landscapes, and colorful flowers, so if you tag me in such a pic on social media, you’ll have my eternal gratitude. 😉

4. My idea of relaxation is curling up on the couch or in bed with a good book – preferably the hotties from J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood, or the awesome Merit from Chloe Neill’s Chicagoland Vampires series. In lieu of that option, I’m good with drooling over Jamie from the Outlander TV show too. **Fans herself** Always on the lookout for a new hero, or even a kick-ass heroine to fall in love with as a reader! ♥ However, my TBR pile is crazy long!
   

5. I’d love to have a house on the beach one day. With the white noise of the ocean in the background, maybe I’d get more writing done. LOL.

6. My sense of humor tends to lean toward sarcasm.

I have published in the following genres:  historical romance, contemporary romance, paranormal romance, romantic comedy, fantasy, romantic suspense, mystery/thriller, science fiction, dramatic fiction, literary fiction and poetry. You’ll see comedies, historical tales, paranormal, sci-fi, dystopian and time travel stories, as well as general romance. Crossing genres is not unheard of for me.
