I’ve been writing for over twenty-five years. From the tender age of nine, I knew I wanted to be an author. I spent most of my life trying to fulfill that dream. I began publishing in 2010, and was fortunate enough to be discovered by Solstice Publishing when they picked up and published my first historical romance novel, Upon Your Return (book one of the Heiresses in Love Series), in February of 2013.
The sequel, Upon Your Honor, was released in April of 2014 through Summer Solstice. I also have a lighthearted romantic fantasy, Magick & Moonlight, that released in March of 2014 through Solstice Shadows. Second Nature, a paranormal romance/urban fantasy and book one of the Blood at First Sight Series, was released in December of 2014 through Solstice Shadows. A children’s fantasy titled A Little Magick, book two of the Magick Series, was released in July of 2015. A contemporary romance, Second Chance Heart, was released in October of 2015. Blue Vision, a science fiction romance and book one of the Code of Endhivar Series, was released in November of 2016. In February of 2017, Upon Your Love, book three of the Heiresses in Love Series, was released, along with The Missing Piece, a short new adult romance. In July of 2017, Directions of the Heart, a modern romantic drama collection, was released. The Heiresses in Love Trilogy is now complete, so a boxed set is available! 🙂 Blood Instincts, a futuristic paranormal romance/urban fantasy and book two of the Blood at First Sight Series, just released in May of 2018! Additionally, I am working on Chasing Ginger, a romantic comedy and book one of The Misfits Series; as well as several other collections, which I hope to release soon.
I have published 24 books under various pen names: Marie Lavender, Erica Sutherhome, Kathryn Layne and Heather Crouse. I plan to re-release them all under the same name. In the past, I had two short stories published in a private university publication.
I have published in the following genres: historical romance, contemporary romance, paranormal romance, fantasy, romantic suspense, mystery/thriller, science fiction, dramatic fiction, literary fiction and poetry. If you check out the PROJECTS AND WRITING section of this website, you can see I don’t really keep to one genre or subgenre. You’ll see comedies, historical tales, paranormal, sci-fi, dystopian and time travel stories, as well as general romance. Crossing genres is not unheard of for me. I also run a guest author blog at http://marielavender.blogspot.com/. Additionally, I have a newsletter that will keep you updated! Sign up here to receive the next issue.

Enter the Other World at your own risk…
What if you found out that you weren’t exactly…human?
Myah Sullivan is suddenly living that nightmare. There are Others in the world, dangerous, supernatural creatures that make her mind spin and cause her to question the reality she’s always known.
Oliver King is her savior, a vampire who tries to show her the way. Through her journey she learns far more than she ever thought she would about herself, and about the past. Soon, she discovers that there is so much more to meeting Oliver than mere happenstance.
Can Myah accept her new reality, or will she retreat into that normal, safe world she once thought was her own?
